MBACP (Snr Accred), BA (hons)
I am a BACP Senior Accredited (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Registered Counsellor, I am also registered with UKRCP (United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
My theorectical model of training is a Person Centred Approach, however I work using an integrative model of counselling including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis. This means I use my knowledge of various therapeutic models during our time together, allowing freedom and flexibility to work in a way which best suits you as an individual.
I have practised as a Counsellor for 10 years in a wide range of settings including the Voluntary Sector, NHS, Primary and Secondary Education. I have supported clients as they have worked to understand, address and overcome a broad range of complex issues including, addictive behaviour, anxiety, depression, stress related difficulties, physical health issues, bereavement and unexpected life changes. I am also a member of the Northumbria Sexual and Domestic Violence Network working as part of the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner Initiative; raising awareness and knowledge of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
My aim in working with you is to provide a reliable and consistent framework in which you can improve your awareness of yourself and your relationships, with a view to increasing self-understanding and well-being.
